Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm.)

Diploma in Pharmacy program is popularly known as D Pharm in India. D.Pharmacy is a two years course with main goal is to educate and train the students for practicing pharmacy. This is the minimum qualification to get registered as a pharmacist in India.

Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm.)

Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm.) is an undergraduate academic degree to learn and acquire adequate knowledge, necessary skills to practice the profession of pharmacy. The programme is a versatile interdisciplinary programme preparing graduates with a sound knowledge and understanding of the science, technology and practice of pharmacy. The core subjects include Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Analysis (Chemistry of Drugs), Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy and Pharmacy Practice.Selection is based on the marks secured in plus two. Candidates qualified in the Diploma in Pharmacy examination conducted by the Board of Examinations of the Government of Tamil Nadu or any other Board of any other State recognized as equivalent there to by the authority of this University. It is a versatile interdisciplinary program preparing graduates with a sound knowledge and understanding of the science, technology, and practice of pharmacy.

Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm.-Pharmaceutics)

Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm-Pharmaceutics) is a postgraduate academic degree that deals with the process of turning a new chemical entity or old drugs into a medication to be used safely and effectively by patients. This programme is also termed as science of dosage form design which helps to relate the formulation of drugs to their delivery and deposition in body. This is a two years course for students who complete B.Pharm from a PCI approved college or University with not less than 55% of maximum marks. The course covers various units like Product development, Drug delivery system, Regulatory affairs, Analytical techniques, Biopharmaceutics & pharmacokinetics etc., The course covers the study of a medication which is safely & efficiently used by patients in the community.

Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm-D)

Doctor of Pharmacy is a hospital oriented globally accepted pharmacy programme. We have started the programme Pharm-D in the year 2019. This is a six-year course after completion of the plus two with science stream. The course is approved by the Pharmacy Council of India and the intake is 30 students per annum. The course is designed to make the students competent as per the global demand in the management of patient medication therapy and improve patient outcomes. The students acquire their clinical knowledge and skills to manage patients with chronic or acute illness, collaborate other health care providers to provide cost-effective care, identify and correct drug-related issues, educate patients and family members on the correct use of medications etc., The students undergo one Year internship/residency during the final year (6th year) in the various major departments of the speciality teaching hospital.
